Partners in Ministry

How do I become a member?

We believe membership in a local church is vitally important - so much so that we call church members "partners in ministry.” This is not simply about having your name on a roll; it’s about committing to be part of a located Body and to use your Spirit-given gifts - both for your edification and the edification of our Body, and ultimately for the glory of Christ our Head. We are partnering together to carry out Christ's mission of making disciples as we KNOW Christ, GROW in Christ, GO Serve as Christ, and SOW the Gospel of Christ.

Step 1: Attend Services
We welcome you to visit our services and prayerfully consider if this is where God would have you commit as a church home. There are many opportunities to learn, grow and help others here at ABC. We encourage you to visit various classes and events and get to know the people here as you anticipate the Lord impressing on you if this is the best church home for you.
Step 2: Discipleship Class
Pastor Jason leads a Sunday school class on ABC's Discipleship Process. That class runs September through December. Attending the first 5 sessions are required prior to becoming a partner in ministry. However, at request, he will gladly meet at other times of the year to cover the essential material. Among other things, the class covers the importance of the church, who needs the church, our church structure and what Abingdon Bible Church believes.
Step 3: Partner in Ministry
After you have attended the discipleship class, you can make a decision about becoming a partner in ministry. If you would like to become one, a time will be arranged to share your testimony with a few of our elders. Then at a later date, you'll be introduced to our church family.
